GM is ultimately at fault here. If he hadn't forced him to fight in the tourney to fuel his greed, he wouldn't have been exposed. Not just the fight against the Demon, but the others as well. If he hadn't been involved, he wouldn't be in trouble. Granted, Patty played a slight role in making him fight too... but in the end, the GM is the main culprit.

GM stated in an earlier chapter that GM's are required to be part of the religion in order to be a GM.
