The design of his armor from the first few pages makes no fucking sense. When wearing plate mail if you're not wearing the leather under armor the plate bites into your skin so every movement will slowly injure you, much less any impact damage will directly impact with your body and also cause the metal to cause just as much damage as the attack. Plate is designed to reduce the damage from slashing blades, chain mail for stabbing attacks while the under armor is for impact and protection from your own metal armor
