I'd assume the target audience of this work are the otaku. I find it peculiar this series really makes a point of random female classmates calling the otaku MC disgusting, straight to his face. Is that some softcore edgelord martyrdom writing? In edgelord (revenge) isekai it's obviously taken to the power of 10. However, since this is supposedly based in realism, after a fashion, aside from the time travel thing, maybe this is as far as it can be taken?

But then again, I'm no expert in Japanese high school student life. Bullying kills kids there, so maybe this much is nothing much even in reality.
