I’m so tired of this trope. This is over done in every single Manga to somehow make the MC act. It’s in literally every single one now, people might wanna pretend this is what the world is like, but it’s not

I don't understand why these types of stories insist on pushing the idea that a character with social anxiety needs to be a superhero to make friends whom they'll promptly ignore and act like they're ruining their (new friend's) life by associating with them and breaking some imaginary social caste.

The premise is more than enough. At the very least future instances don't need to be for the MC to look good after being an idiot and jerk in the first place. The major issue is it just ruins the pacing. They should have just went straight to talking or if the chapter wanted to put the MC in a difficult situation to force development make it so that he has to ask her away from her group or say that he wants to talk or even apologize in public. Making him have to compromise his worst beliefs and do some actual growing.

A story about the MC spending time with just one more person and that opening up his social life and enjoyment would have been more than enough. Because this route has just been frustrating to watch and to be frank people don't change like this. Someone with such an apparently self hating mindset that makes the MC delusional and believe he has to suffer for others to enjoy themselves (despite nothing pointing to that and the people in question repeatedly saying that they enjoy themselves more with him and acting out of their way to spend time with him), isn't really going to come to some ephinany on his own. That's exactly why people need support and social groups. I mean just staying consistent with THIS Manga, why in the world would the MC care about the female lead saying she wants to spend time with him this time?! He hasn't any other time or with any of the other characters. Well maybe she's too mean in other instances except the super nice gal said the same thing and was ignored and the class president said it like 20 times and only.

I just really hate these tropes where loners have to be batman and then like the worst versions of batman where he thinks he has to be self sacrifing as a mission to save others and pushes everyone away whose begging him to let them help either because they care about him or feel inspired by him.

@Jackist and @TNT261

The response to both of you is actually the same. It's because despite the tags not listing it, this story is in the harem genre.

There are literally three beautiful, quirky girls throwing themselves at the MC and trying to get him to open up to them, all while he is trying to be this reclusive loner that repeatedly calls himself a lone wolf in order to remind the reader. This is stock light novel harem tropes at work.

Thanks for the TL.

The chap, however, is shite. Absolute shite.

This series is actually an insult to folks who have real mental and psychological problems, but work everyday in steps big and small, to live with and overcome them.

This dude is just a moron who can't even do basic self-help for his "issues" which really are more social anxiety and lack of maturity. They're not real mental problems.

Um, social anxiety is a big mental issue. And a lot of mentally ill people don't do basic self-help. What are you even getting at?
