I think a bit of external drama will be inevitable once she starts asserting herself and saying no to things she doesn't want to do, at the same time, when she comes to terms with her sexuality her mother may be a source of drama, that was already presented on that phone call too.
All in all I don't think those would be bad, as they are a step in the process of learning about oneself and finding courage to seek what you want.

I see your point! This kind of journey does require facing those setbacks. I’m not the biggest fan of coming out stories (just cause they’re friggin everywhere, and I find it boring now, aha), but I do have a feeling this manga will tackle that well.

My hopes for less external drama refer to annoying love rivals who are present in a story just to break up or set back a relationship. If it’s family or society as a whole stirring up a problem, then yeah, that’s a natural roadblock for Hinako.

Nonetheless, I’m enjoying sitting in Hinako’s mindspace and feeling her introspection as she figures out who she is. I’d like more of that. 😂
