This pertains to doujinshi multivolume series, not the one volume oneshots.
My suggestions is since the doujinshi is technically a volume, then upload them as volumes with the chapter numbers the same as the volume numbers.
Example:
Vol. 1 Ch. 1
Vol. 2 Ch. 2
etc.
This way the Reading Progress fields will be accurate.
