Alright then.
1. we know that the forces were poorly prepared on the invasion.. like someone said in here they didn't think that they would be attacked and somehow slacked off. Hell they waited TOO long to find an acting knight commander.
2. the boss of hers might die a horrible death and his head put on a pike to show off.
3. Hell yeah Elf mama is a powerful lady.
4. the enemy leader LIKES to time her attacks and enjoys to kill. so she is rather evil.
5. the armors of theirs reminds me of symbiotes in Marvel. but i suspect demon armors if they do exist in this.
6. it is not her problem anymore since she is stuck inside the dragon.

I would like to remind you all that Lienna survived being swallowed by the dragon. And unlike Amon, who used magic, she did it just by having her armor on.
Ignoring her strenght, at the very least she is EXTREMELY durable.

I'm wondering if the Elf is more important than we realise. Maybe she's one of the FMC's trainers, she seems strong enough to be, and is going to bring the beat down on the kingdoms higher ups for mistreating her student?

We are pretty clearly missing something because I don't think Lienna has appeared strong enough to warrant another nation holding off on invading. Lienna's own recollection is that she never fought on the frontline so either she's lying to us the reader for no particular reason or she did something casually that instilled fear in the other nations.

Was Claire that same girl that kept Lienna from living a normal life? I mean I guess I like that she got murked and the whole country is gonna be destroyed. It just feels kind of anticlimactic. Presumable the knights that got killed were the strongest below Lienna but like if they're not that strong how could Lienna be strong or be trained to be that strong. Lienna has been swamped in paper work since becoming the commander and doesn't have time to train. How could she possibly have gotten stronger or stayed as strong as before under these circumstances?
I mean, she didn't completely mentallly collapse when she saw the dragon initially. Maybe if she was in top form she would have had a chance? Or she at least thought she did.

Sheesh, sudden fanservice and chopped off head guro, though looking back chapter 4 is also fanservicy

I wonder if the elf will just stay as this random super powerful mage or if she is friend with one of those two
I mean, the country is stupid right? Not having your Decisive Weapon aka Knight Commander properly taken care of.. or even supported with men is just stupid. Who the heck sent their S-rank hero alone without at least assistant or supervision?
You said it like she was send to take of a dragon instead of just checking an area lol

I think Claire was the one in Lienna's flashback in chapter 5 so hopefully she'll survive, she probably has good relation to her.

I'm guessing the country knights haven't had real fights for a while and got caught offguard, the invaders being unusual too.

This is just stupid. It would be completely acceptable for a sub division of the knights to be crushed. But somehow both vice commanders were in this town and both got crushed like nothing. There is no way their knights are this worthless and the kingdom still exists.

Nice to see this division: on one side, we see our female knight learning to relax and enjoy life. On the other, we see the world that keeps going on in her absence (and going mostly to shit).

How much do you wanna bet the higher-ups in this country don't learn anything from this and just make the Shota the next Knight Commander since he tanked an attack from one of the knights that wiped out a garrison of 100?

And honestly if a scumbag is given free reign to tell a quite literal superhuman what to do, and they do it despite the fact that they can turn the scumbag into paste, the scumbag's going to abuse them without a second thought. Pride always comes before a fall.

She only said she never fought on the frontline after she became the commander. Her armor is probably new, not the same as when she was a lower rank. We do not really know how good she is...

...Except we do? Just taking the previous chapter, she took on a Kaiju like monster. I'm not sure you see her as anything but a monster herself. Armor or no, she gets clocked by it and just gets back up almost like nothing happened. She has both the skills and sheer focus to take the monster head on, and with one blow she severed it's arm.

I personally think that they do indeed select the Knight Commanders for their ability. Just as you note that the vice-commanders got jobbed, at the same time there must be a reason she's the commander and they aren't. We thought that reason was because nobody wanted her job, since it's just administrative. But that's just because we didn't have any evidence for another reason. Now we do. They are likely selected for ability, kept in the rear to safeguard them as weapons of deterrence, and given admin jobs because in the status quo they aren't needed for their primary purpose. Since they can't be sent out, at least routinely, it's either have them do admin work or conduct training. We do know she actually even does the latter.

I don't think its right to keep harping on this idea of her being a bonsai plant just because that's the first impression we got from the series, that came from a bunch of low ranker knights who don't have a good view of the geopoltics and military concerns.

If the knight commander were such an important person why did they treat her like that? Or is she just a really bad yes man and it escalated to the current situation?
The latter, I think. We know that the knights organization was pushing all the administrative work onto Lienna, so they could faff around. I'm guessing that they also dodged their martial responsibilities. They were gossiping and dodging responsibilities when they should have been training. Now as soon as Lienna is gone, they get invaded and killed. A "When the cat is gone the mice will play" situation.
