I took Dis Amigo directly from the raws, and am basing the names on the raws, rather than one of the many translations of Dragon Quest VII's game. Dis Amigo is based on the Japanese Desu Amigo, as you can look up for yourself. From your comment you seem very passionate about this project, I'm sure you'd love to offer your help.

“デス” means “death”, or in this case, “Death”, not “Dis”.

It's based on the sound of the romanji, the raws I used did the same. It's a name, so I matched how it would be said, rather than change it to the English equivalent word. When Dragon Ball was localized, they didn't call Chi Chi milk, they called her Chi Chi. I take it you're willing to join the translation team? As this is distressing to you, I assume you'll be offering your own money and time to ensure you have a more enjoyable experience?
