It’ll be so satisfying in a few years when they adapt this as an anime.

Tho Chocoma being someone of such skill and not being in the original work either means something tragic or something hidden for a future sequel. Weird to think someone of her level wasn’t active during the events of Dai. Tho again there’s ways to explain it if Dai ever gets followed up on.

@AgniZet @shrike i wouldn’t get mournful yet, this series loves the trope of “powerful being absent from events due to dealing with a different crisis elsewhere”. So Chocoma doesn’t have to kick it, could’ve been elsewhere unreachable during Dai. Tho unless a sequel happens we’ll never know

Yeah! I mean the reason Baron wasn't around for Hadlar is because of Velzar. So it wouldn't surprise me if we find out that Chocoma was in the underworld. Or maybe she was making her way through the trials (that cave that they learned kaglimmer in). Or maybe she was stuck wherever Gyuta is because she went to find Gyuta, her old home. I'm sure they'll come up with a reason.

In the most recently published chapters they even retconned a reason for why Avan "gave up" looking for Hyunkel after he fell into the river (because you KNOW he wouldn't give up until he found him). Spoilers: He gets petrified, probably the clang spell, by a newly introduced enemy, and he's stuck frozen for 2 whole years. So them coming up with a plausable reason is... plausable.
