To be fair, Avan is too kindhearted to just say "It was for the good of humanity that your father died. Please understand." I think Avan figured that if Hyunckel only hates him and no one else then it'll be fine.

Of course, the tragedy is neither aware that Hadlar still lives and is the one who killed Barbatos, and that Hadlar plans to to rebuild his dark army which entice Hyunckle later on to join for the sake of revenge.
