Well, now that I saw raws (up to ch.25), I'm not so sure I want to dig into this story deeper. I mean, I'm not worried about destination, but I feel like the road will be "to bumpy" for my taste. One thing I can say is that Enomoto continues to write adult characters very well.

Is it making fun of common TV tropes? Feels more like this is embracing them and trying to make them more enjoyable/tolerable? The drama is handled infinitely better than the sadly established formula that is used by 99% of writers but it still is a long way from satire or anything of the sort it feels like

Also, nice disclaimer for peeps that are allergic to drama but the common TV tropes still happen to some extent and she is a hypocrite and rather irritating quite a bit through ch 18-25 until the "payoff". 7 chapters in this type of manga and story is not a little.

Making fun on the sense that it takes these common tropes and "subvert" them, allowing them to reach outcomes which are generally the opposite that would be expected. Yes, it is on itself a homage to these kind of stories, whilst still an original and unique story between Ban and Yuuki.

Well, can’t say I didn’t see this coming. But then agan, there was always going to be drama when an ex returns.

Now from what I can see in Ban’s behavior, she’s just glad that the ex is still the same person so she’s relieved. Didn’t see any sort of reaction that would make one think she still has lingering feelings or anything of that sort.

That being said, Yuuki’s reaction was 100% valid and I won’t hear otherwise. Imagine seeing the ex of your current love return. Then she cancels a date with you and then you spot them together, having a fun time. Any normal person, regardless of age here would feel insecure. Yuuki’s even thinking she has more fun with the ex than she has with him but that obviously isnt the case. He’s just blindsided by jealousy and insecurity which are stomping at him in full force in this moment but I guess this will create a chance for him to grow as a person. Bro is only human and whatever he’s feeling is natural since he loves Ban. Good chapter.
