Experienced doesn't mean good at it, rent a cuckfriend author is experienced too...
I'm not reading through several cliches put in a scenario that supposedly wants to be serious, it just makes it annoying and frustrating, even more so with adults characters.
And I have no fondness for the author that would let me overlook such things either.
There's certainly worst out there, but the ex conveniently coming back is one cliche too many, with the "virgin minded" guy and the deadpan face chick. Not for me.
1) Have you read enomoto’s other popular work kono kaisha? The office romance? If you have, you will know just how capable she is.
2) Stop bringing kanokari into this conversation to make a comparison that makes zero sense. Every author has their way to doing things so just because Reiji is doing things his way doesn’t mean enomoto will do things his way too. Does kanokari live in your head rent free to mention it in a totally unrelated thread and your argument lacking? I have my gripes with that manga too but im not gonna compare it with something entirely different because it would be stupid of me.
3) Every romcom has cliches, if you dont like cliches you might hafta stop reading all romcoms altogether at some point. Infact, romcoms are built around cliches.
4) I prefer the ex coming early in the story rather than late because then we can get rid of his antics early in the story. And I think I understand why Enomoto chose to involve the ex as soon as ban and yuuki got closer. It’s to test and teach them. Teach yuuki how to deal with jealously and test Ban if she can draw clear boundaries with her ex cause if she likes yuuki, she will have to. Although I don’t doubt Ban for a second. She will draw boundaries when it’s needed. She is already falling for Yuuta, she just doesn’t comprehend it yet. Thats why being around him makes her happy. If only her ex didn’t screw up her perception of love
5) Yuuki is not that experienced so ofcourse he’s going to panic and be jealous when her first and only partner shows up. Its in line with human nature. He will learn and he will grow.
6) Lastly, if its not for you then its not for you, its alright but dont make it seem like whatever’s gonna happen in the future is gonna be bad just because you are not happy with that sort of development.
