Also I think what makes the alien meat taste bad is whether or not they are infected by the virus

This is obviously an metaphor for the idea that a small portion of immigrants will actually mesh well with the local population and regardless of one's generalized feelings towards foreigners in general, one will not be able to help but tolerate or even like such people.

You know, probably, I honestly don't really care about that part, I just want to see Nomamoto shoot seemingly-real-dead-sister-hydras some more.
