I think the author is stuck in a time loop where they can only watch the first episode of Full Metal Alchemist. Reading this series is like watching that episode again, and again, and again. Fighting the sun god statues only has impact once.

At least we'll never get to a Nina Turner... Maybe the main character will try to merge his maid with a golem to bring out a monstrosity that will destroy the world. I'd chuckle if that happened.

To at least be fair, Akira is using his power of Soul here, so his golem right now is significantly more powerful than the ones he was using just before. Previous chapter the other girl's golem couldn't even dent that guy even with her Blessing. But here Akira just instantly riddled him with holes

If you look closely you’ll see that there’s bolts of fire and spears engulfed by flames going through the golem in that two page spread, implying he drew ifrit and transformed it into a weapon multiple times in an instant, like how he’s done before.

Technically they weren’t introduced randomly, it was foreshadowed back in chapter 165 when we were first introduced to the cousin at the beginning of the arc when they showed her about to face off against them, and then when she was returning back in chapter 172 as what we can only interpret as her being victorious with them subjugated.

That's fair, I'd forgotten these were the spirits she'd fought back then, I thought them showing up as shadows at the end of the chap two chaps ago was when we first saw them.
