I'm not in team Aria. It's not like her character would be dislikeable, but I don't appreciate her attitude of hiding major things from Akira and making decisions for him, without Akira having a single clue about what's going on. If she had asked him if he wanted his mana to be sealed, in order to avoid the nation's attention and to keep living a simple life, and he had agree, then it would be okay. But she did it without anyone knowing and then lied to him.

Medis is clumsy in her interactions with Akira and ends up roping him into all sorts of trouble, but she's not doing it in an underhanded manner. Not to mention Akira actually needs to get involved, to save the world. He won't have a peaceful life anyway if undead monsters rule the world. Nobody knows how Aria was planning to solve all of that. Maybe she wasn't.

Chapter 55: Turning Point

Gotta say, I dunno if this would qualify as an actual turning point. Just deciding to fight for your princess friend is just a matter of course for Akira.

Sealing his mana at first was to save him because of the backlash he received saving Medis and himself. However, as powerful as she seems to be....the two of them getting captured should honestly never had happened but the plot most flow. If she had asked him, Akira would have most likely said yes and we would still be in the same situation. But yeah, I agree that doing so willingly is better than being lied into it. He might have completely turned down loli witch from fixing his mana circuits (can't remember what they called her so borrowing term from type-moon) and either end up dead or they turn back before encountering the divine beast.

Akira called himself selfish because of what the kids are sacrificing their dreams and yada yada yada but that's bullshit, they are NOT there because they wanted to be. They are there due to a royal decree, Akira didn't know the fate of the world partly because Aria didn't tell him but also because it was kept silenced from the general public...which Akira was a part of. Slight edit: Aria had no reason to tell Akira the situation of the world since she would most likely protect him and his family from it.
Again, I'm pissed at this author's pinning blame on MC through the actions of others. Today's bullshitter is the Queen. Her suspecting Akira for only joining now DESPITE in the same conversation talking about the gag order SHE issued which would have made it IMPOSSIBLE for him to know Medis and the country's situation. Of course, she knew this and said that as a part of her scheme but still this is becoming a running theme.

"It's almost like I forced him into it, isn't it!?"
Me: I mean...gives Katia the side eye SOMEONE did force him.....

Feel sorry for the "Berserker". She should gut the prince for daring to hurt that face, especially seeing as she's basically helping him undermine the queen.

Akira helping waa a forgone conclusion as he values Medis as a friend. I agree if Aria had discussed what she wa doing to Akira it would have been better. Though she was protecting his dream of a simple life even if she didn't know it. I'm still team Aria.

The berserker doesn't deserve the abuse and I'm hoping we see consequences for the Prince's abuse of his station.

Yup, which is why Katia should have been upfront with Akira from the get go thus getting his service without strongarming and him.
I'm team Aria simply because maid. There's just no need to justify for me beyond that.

"How dare you enter with that mask?"
immediately assaults her when she takes it off

Well I mean, seems like she had the right idea.

Well looking at how things will go, EVENTUALLY he's still gonna have to step up against the oder. It's probably gonna be better that its a time where the oder are still far from the country.

Remember kids, lying, threatening manipulating and abusing your position is always the star of a great romance in real life.

Seriously I'm not someone that uses terms like alpha and beta but why is every MC in one of these mangas the absolute biggest pushover when it comes to people that screw them over.

Couldn't have said it better! ☝️

Indeed. Not to mention the last few panels are technically confessing to her, it can be easily misunderstood and used against him. The author keeps painting him as someone who isn't reincarnated coming from a life of "success". You would think someone who has achieved "success" as an adult knows about hardship in life and their character is chiseled accordingly. This has not been exploited and in fact diminished by showing very childish behavior and erratic responses.
