I'm half expecting this attack to end up damaging the soul stone from overuse to the point where its grade goes to D or something. Show off that max power MC and then make them finish with only a minor powerup.

This is one of the most drawn out and overdramatized arcs in anything I've ever read. This should be basically a prologue to the real story, something for him to overcome but it's so ridiculous and phantasmagorical. 👻
