This chapter really is interesting - because it draws parallels to the danmachi prologue from some game's (memoria freese? unsure havent played it but that name feels like it is meant to be the title of the game) cutscenes (specifically one chapter of it).
I highly suggest you go to youtube to watch a compilation of danmachi "argonaut" (the videos I watched came in 2 parts, "the clown march tale", and "the fate of hero tale").
The story is a slow burn (so some patience needed - and I watched at 1.5x speed in the end due to that), but I still really liked it. In total about 7 hours of watchtime (at 1x speed), so prepare some snacks.
Somewhat of a spoiler (because it reveals the connection between this chapter and the prologue's story). So if I already convinced you to spend 7 hours of your life, don't open this box:
The story is a slow burn (so some patience needed - and I watched at 1.5x speed in the end due to that), but I still really liked it and it relates heavily to this minotaur fight.
But while this chapter implies the fight the minotaur remember is bell's earlier fight with a minotaur, it also secretly gives us a hint that it isn't. The minotaur's memory is about lightning, which is implied refers to bell's firebolt. But notably there is a fight in which a minotaur is actually killed through lightning instead, eons past.
Yup. Like, wasn't the entire minotaur fight already fairly well-covered in the original danmachi? With a strong focus on bell and his familia?
But I agree that this is one of the few chapters where I don't feel like that [following bells story a second time] is a chore - because this is one of the pivotal moments where simply seeing the surroundings reactions, thoughts, and part in the play, really adds to the scene.
So, the 1st fight was a max lvl 1 versus an upper level 2. And then, he was also the floor 18 boss? A mid 2 vs a low 5 (irritating that they bumped the boss to 5). And now, a mid(?) or upper level 3 vs a powerhouse of a 6. Guess Bell is about to become level 4...
