I kind of got that vibe, cuz he tells her that hole is a break room. Which might come up later, which is probably why she uses it in the future.

It's also possible that him saying vampire and her reaction to it is because it's a foreign concept to her. Maybe she calls herself a vampire when she's Judith because of this moment.

Not just Japanese, the Cannibalism Superpower is a trope that exist in across all the media, stories and even real life, I shit u not, it's still happening now as some people eat others to "gain their power" or for "sorcery protection", heck even in 1st world we have Carnivore Diet that's basically "I'm a weak pathetic meat-bag, but if I eat meat, I'm a dangerous predator RAWR! :3".

Oldest tale I think was from Greek mythology of the Tydeus eating the head/brain of Melanippus.

Hmm I understood that it kept evolving in each iteration though not retaining the memories hence in the last one he couldn't communicate with it and it was already in devourer form, but since that reality itself not only "time" was erased you might be right. I still hope we get to see the puppet sword best girl again (since the last volume cover does remind me of the girl from the egg)
