I really enjoy when something that I'm confused about gets an explanation, or when worldbuilding gets expanded on. I have to side with the glasses hero on this one: I love explanations.

Sometimes the 'rule of cool' is all the explanation you need or want.

I actually quite like this explanation.
No so that it's explained, I'm neutral to it and the punchline of "Why are you explaining it?" was great.
The mana efficiency is some Satoru Gojo Six Eyes stuff. And it was teased in how with Van, he is pretty dull faced. Where he needs to switch on or off his 'locked in' face.
Those gags became foreshadowing to an explanation into a joke.
