witch on doppelganger: On exactly the 3rd of may begins the breeding season of the mayfly. This period, lasting 16 days, is when mayflies begin laying 1 to 4 eggs on select hosts. The mayfly selects its host carefully based on nutrients of host's body as well as ability to protect the eggs. The eggs laid by the mayfly are then coated with an anitmemetic amnestic coating that removes the ability of observers to notice the eggs attached to infected hosts. The mayfly is not immune to the effects of the coating. The incubation period lasts between 8 days to 5 weeks. During this period, the host exhibits hostility to all possible threats. This hostility only intensifies as the date of hatching approaches. Once this period is over, the egg hatches into a larva, colloquially referred to as a "doppelgänger". The larva then mimics the appearance of its host and begins the hunt to extend its lifespan
