He has spent significantly more time with Sierra than Chris, additionally, he mostly had a work relationship(escaping) with Chris which later blossomed to a little more. Meanwhile, from the get-go, he had a lot more interpersonal focused connection with Sierra. Lastly, Sierra came at a time when he was alone and had nothing to do being bored out of his mind and not in great danger. All in all, he probably views Chris like a benefactor more than a lover

Chris was a suspension-bridged whirlwind romance full of sex and danger only one another, and stayed kinda at one intensity the whole time... before being cut short by responsibility. Sierra, they had a whole arc of not just being around one another at different levels of relationship (e.g., strangers, friends, partner/coworker, friend-crush, romantic love) but they actively examined, discussed, and negotiated who they were to one another, which was kind of one of my favorite parts of that pairing.

It wasn't that he and Sierra weren't yet lovers so much as the fact that in many ways, they were already more than just lovers. And man, that's just beautiful, isn't it?

But yeah, Chris obviously best girl and fated love. Fight me.

I agree Chris is/was best girl. Sadly, if what I remember is correct, Chris never comes back into the story.
