    The best part is that upon looking at A Comprehensive Review on Periorbital Hyperpigmentation, they say, and I quote "There is very little scientific data available on the clinical profile and pathogenesis of periorbital hyperpigmentation." implying there truly is such a gap in the literature!

    Ah, but what a faux pas I've committed! I must attribute this to confirmation bias, if I may, for upon a simple search I found POH and readily rejected this for it had to me been told as another term. The - in my eyes - much more agreeable dermatochalasis came with a wave of certainty, for it was how I had first been tutored. I recognize now that there was an error in my education, what misery. I shall look into not repeating such foolish conjectures here forth!
