okay, uh, i reread it back to this point and i now won't consider it a sex scene (the first half anyway). i'd assume i got used to accepting actual proclivous actions of the naughty because of stuff like redo healer, asumi-chan, holy brownie, i won't sleep with you for free, and warui ga watashi wa yuri ja nai, where sex scenes actually do appear while being labelled erotica. which is sadly considered (by me) the exception. i've been too optimistic sometimes and find out that the deed was skipped! which, props for imagination i guess, but i'm here for the artwork.

I mean, she is royalty. You don't drag in some random shotgun wedding as a future regent (though we don't really know the crown structure, so just assuming for now) without a civil war or two. All we know, she could already have an arranged fiancé back home or a situation with a need for one. They are at war, after all.

I could also throw myself into a tangent about how concubine as a position was commonly an extremely powerful and sought after one and the fact that in more than a few cases (way, way more) a concubine was domestically/romantically a much closer spouse than the primary one, but I do get what you mean. That pragmatic accuracy threw me off the loop for a bit, too.
