LOL i guess it is part of the comedy tho i guess something something 'animal instincts' but it would be interesting if they came across other talking pets (i haven't re-read it in a while so idk if it's canon that other animals besides ebichu can communicate tho it is interesting they all act as if it's normal versus "whoa your hamster can talk")
Well, there's a few more other anthro characters like ebichu in the series. Of course, Dobukichi is first introduced in this chapter, but there's also his dad and mom that first appear in the next volume, I believe. There's also a tanuki named Tanukio that Ebichu meets in Volume 10. His whole thing is that his balls grow everytime he lies, hahaha
