Edit Locked?

There are some series where edit option is locked. I'd like to know what the reason for it is.

I had suspicion it's like this when they are claimed by translator groups, but my request to open the option was rejected, even after translation work on the series was inactive for 11 months now and the covers also weren't updated, it lacked most volume covers.

A group cannot "claim" a series, some pages are locked due to edit warring and you need to manually submit changes through reports.
