Not to doomer because I do appreciate the work you've done so far, but SoL series like these don't really sell outside of a few notable exceptions that focus more on cgdct or got meme'd half to death in communities. I'd be surprised if it ever got an official translation. The veranda manga has 4x+ people alone for popularity on anilist. Romance manga are kinda a different level in terms of appeal for people. That's assuming at least that this never lives up to the GL tag.

Speak for yourself. Research shows that piracy doesn't have a negative impact on sales. If people can't read something they stop reading it.

Also there is the licensing matter, or better, the "where the manga get licensed" matter.
It's often seen that scanlations stops because the manga is licensed in the Usa...but not everyone lives there 😅 there are a lot of other countries where the same manga doesn't get an official licensing + translation, but the readers from those places still get cut out from getting the rest of the opera.

I understand the point of the translator teams, don't get me wrong, it's just sad to having a serie halted in every way while you are appreciating it

There's pros and cons to licensing and scanlations.

People may read the scanlation for free and find out that the series is trash, so they won't buy it. Sometimes the scanlation is a massive hit and even without an anime, it gets people talking and gets the series licensed, and that mangaka's work is now hugely popular outside of Japan.

When a series gets officially released, sometimes it could have mistakes where your only option is to buy the volume again, the series goes out of print and becomes awful to buy, or it's consistently years behind the Japanese release and it kills any hype or discussion around it. And sometimes everything is fine and everyone's happy. Yay.

I agree with the comments above.
Unless a series is already really popular, scanlations are pretty much a form of marketing to create interest in a series no one would've even been aware about or able to read otherwise. For the more lesser known series, it can really only help the creator, and influence some of their now new fans to go out and support the author, even if not all the readers do.
For example, the Watamote duo explicitly mentioned on multiple occasions how the popularity of the scans were the only reason they were able to get the series licensed for overseas to begin with, and thanked them.
