Yuuri actually stops dying accidentally sometimes around the 20th chapter and actually starts taking some precaution to not die after a very heart warming moment with Hastur. After that, it becomes SoL with some brief combat here and there. Although, the SoL starts taking a side seat with adventure sometimes near the end.

Also, yes, there is no more things like the starting chapters (Well, there is a brief near attempt of that sorta thing when she loses her sealing glasses for a moment but nothing really major happens from it) from what I can remember (Though I only read up to 97 so far I can't tell you about anything after that since I'm waiting for the TL to finish before I start reading again).

Although, how the novel goes into description of Yuuri's and Hastur's relationship got kinda squicky to me on certain bits since Yuuri doesn't age but luckily, it doesn't go into toooo much detail so you can probably ignore it.....maybe.

Edit: @Karsh From my experience with the comment section of GB Manga's and LNs, the majority (Or a big portion at least) of those who read the genre are in it for the Shoujo-ai/Yuri only (Which I can only guess they want because some type of SI fantasy). If the GBed M!MC shows even slight interest in a guy, they are off faster than you can say 'GB' with some remaining to ask the the Translator/Author 'Oh no, that's not actually gonna happen is it?' even if they were actually enjoying the rest of the story.

Oh nice, much better than that "chapter 0".

And I feel I have to chime in too - been following Hakai Me no Yuuri for a little over a year, and... yes, the beginning does make it feel really sketchy (I'm personally not a fan of that kind of thing in novels), but it serves its purpose. The story afterwards is much better, if sometimes delving a bit too deep in some matters.

@MangaDoll Just to clarify, by SoL do you mean Shit Outta Luck right? As in, it doesn't get any better?

Besides that, the way everything has been described about the Yuuri WN so far is giving me the mental picture of this "Hastur" guy being the 50 Shades equivalent of "Christian Grey" and "Yuuri" being "Anastasia Steele"... that being said, I've never read nor watched 50 Shades. Or maybe it's better to compare it to TSF Monogatari. Except the "Hastur" guy is basically a lolicon.

I'll admit that I'm here primarily for the potential shoujo ai, and if the character were to show interest in men it would put a damper on my interest in this series. But if the story progresses in a way that doesn't focus on romance, and the story is good enough, then I would continue to read it.

SoL as in Slice of Life.

Also, it's not too bad, it's just, the author describes the before and after of when the 'deed' is done sometimes and theirs some sex talks between them. It wouldn't really have been bad (Unless your really prudish, no offense to prudes intended) if Yuuri doesn't look like what she does.

Even though she would be in story mentally a adult or late teen when the story started, as there was mention of them looking for employment or something before their demise, the mental image is just not something you don't want to go into you know? Their none sexual romance bits are sweet though.

Edit: I'll say this though, if you don't like it by like the 25th-35th chapter, are really uncomfortable with Yuuri's and Hastur's relationship or some dark moments that appear here and there, than it's not really for you. I just don't want people to completely dismiss it just based on the first couple of chapters when it's not really what the story is about.

Isn't now the time they will say "I will begin my slow life and avoid tedious hero fighting"
