The only one-sidedness really only comes from the army banner. How close are the magic clones (undeads?) to the original? Or more importantly, do their strength even surpass Alma, their summoner?

As for everything else, note that this is an "extraterrestial" invader that came from a ravaged world with no supplies but whatever left they managed to carry with them (and forage), vs. a native group of students. There's massive knowledge gap and experience between the two, but I imagine Reid and Elria p much hammered them with all the necessary trainings. It's not entirely implausible for them to win their fights, especially it's 1 v. many.

Really, only the banner is pulling the disbelief strings.

Look I'll just say this is a series where there was never tension in the fights, you got the two strongest people in history working together.

I'll say I liked the side character fights we got here. Short and sweet, I fucking hate long winded side character fights that go on for 5+ chapters cough*sakamoto days*cough
