This... is probably the weakest chapter of the series so far. There were some not great ones, but this feels like the author realized that only Mai has a good thing going with MC and had to try to give Hina the limelight to feed into the harem.. It's just poor writing.

Also, the rare spotting of a bird for more drama... Lordy..

I could be wrong, but I think it works like this:

- Seeing a large bird of prey make the dragon's spirit possess her.

- Seeing a cute small bird changes her back.

So, she wouldn't change into the dragon often. It's still rather silly, though, because it shouldn't be that hard for him to make sure she sees a cute bird to change her back.
