I always kinda hate when a story that's never really had a narrator or any sense that it's a story being told with hindsight suddenly has a chapter/episode ending narration to pop up just to create a dramatic cliffhanger/foreshadow that isn't set up by the narrative itself. It happens a surprising amount in manga that I'm beginning to wonder if it's just some accepted thing in Japanese writing.

Like I don't recall this series ever having the MC narrate what was going on in a way other than his thoughts in the moment in the scene that's happening. The sudden use of "I never expected that this would happen" narration at the end comes out of nowhere and feels like a cheap trick because the writer couldn't be bothered to layer that foreshadowing into the plot itself.
