how are hiatus for health reasons seen by the Japanese ? Ruri dragon had a year long haitus also due to artist's health issues and now it's booming in popularity with an anime adaptation announced
but to be fair ruri dragon already had around 20 chapters out by then iirc

It's pretty tough for a manga to get serialized so beyond his health issues this will be a big blow to the author. Hope he bounces back both personally and professionally.
