I don't want to always be whining, but you really should stop expecting consistency from this manga lol. Emotional states especially can change every few episodes. With all the emotional set up, it was obvious something will happen to that girl, but dying like that off screen leaves uncertainty.
Lucy giving Kurama a good advice, she even though a monster through subconscious killer instinct, was able to sacrifice herself, yet he choose to use people.
I can't fucking believe that sociopath lived through with just a fractured foot, this is beyond stupid.
He's delusional, he fucking lobotomized those girls and romanticise their actions.
What's more crazy are his coworkers after seeing his slaughterhouse spine column harvester line.
Well, about time Nana faced the truth, too bad it hit her hard.
Yeah I'm naïve with my expectations, but it's a fun little readI don't want to always be whining, but you really should stop expecting consistency from this manga lol. Emotional states especially can change every few episodes.
However, I must say, for my taste, this long-ass chapter has what is probably the best mini arc of this series. It still comes short in several aspects, but I really like some parts of how they handled the conflicting perspectives of Kurama, Lucy, the girl, etc.
I also really enjoyed Nana's reaction to Yuka's mum comment. It shows a different mindset to that of Lucy, although you can understand her cynicism after the emotional turmoil she has been through, and her irrepressible murder tendencies. In Nana's case, instead of answering rejection with rejection, it may be possible to show through good acts that coexistance is possible (although, of course, it just wouldn't be in real life, because these creatures literally are biologically designed to murder so the very message of this manga about acceptance pretty much can't apply and by sticking with this faulted-at-heart conception it is losing the possibility to let this series grow into a much more interesting discussion about unresolvable conflicts, their development and hope for resolution, but oh well).
Good comment, but not the whole story. Both Lucy and Kurama are antagonists, in a way. So, by now, everyone in the larger picture (so leaving aside Yuko, Kouta and everyone not involved in the experiments) is so fucked up there are no heroes. All of those having some sort of relationship with the project have been abused in one way or another, and all are broken as a result. So rather than a plot about "defeating the villain", I would say the only solution to this conflict is to bring closure to it=kill Lucy.Yeah I'm naïve with my expectations, but it's a fun little read
Kurama is the real antigonist in the story, whole lot of shit wouldn't happen if he realised own mistakes, but it's hardly noticeable by most people.
Remember that BFF artist girl Lucy met and Kurama said she didn't survive because she didn't surrender?Good comment, but not the whole story. Both Lucy and Kurama are antagonists, in a way.
