First, medically, I am happy that it took 2 days for Herol to wake up. Just because your body is physically fine, nearly dying will cause you a lot of mental strain that it takes time for the mind to be ready to finally regain consciousness. The mind simply hadn't caught up to the body's healing. Honestly, even waking up to be able to talk like that is already pushing some things.
However, I truly respect Herol. No lie, that's very much how realistic things are. Guys hold back their emotions because they fear rejection because they think that they are hated by the girl they like. But upon nearly dying, you just feel this selfish urge hit you with your regrets that you'd rather tell them that you love them without regarding how it might affect them after you die. You just want to be remembered by them as someone that loved them.
And because he survived, rather than pretending like it never happened, he faced his feelings head-on and honestly told Iril all of his honest feelings. He could still be rejected, but he put his best effort to let her know his true feelings and actually consider being with him.
This was truly a great chapter.
