I feel as though the story has been saying from the start that Elrien is going to be the sacrifice, though?

I can't see the Demon God letting "his son" be killed off. I think that Elrien is a red herring. The entire story is about family, found or otherwise. So, I see the relationship between Elrien and El influencing the Demon God.

That honestly sounds like such a fun fanfic version haha. Lapis as Mr. Mom is a head cannon for me now xD
