• "But I refuse" is a meme from "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure".
• "I need to verify it" phrase is originally "I want to check the cards" (我要验牌 - wǒ yào yàn pái) — a famous meme from the 1991 Hong Kong film "God of Gamblers II: Back to Shanghai". The phrase is spoken in broken Chinese by the "French God of Gamblers," an antagonist facing off against Stephen Chow's character, the Saint of Gamblers. Early in 2026 this meme resurfaced.
• When Jia Cheng kneels in front of Ying Xi, he actually says "father" (a very polite variant of the Chinese counterpart) and then Ying Xi answers "Good boy" (or something like that). I went with "master" instead to convey the feeling of subservience and awe.
• There are at least 3 more chapters available. I've already got the sources for the next two (135 part 2 and 135.5 "extra"). Translation of the next chapter will most likely be published next week.
