How does a man manage to get married and divorced three times in a span of 18 years? (both partners must be 18 in Japan to marry, so 36-18=18) I could understand if this happened over like 30-50 years, but 18?

One nit-pick, the dialogue "neither of them greeted me when I got home" doesn't make sense because it's referring to three people. 'Neither' refers to only two people/party, 'None' would be better.

My mother had had 3 husbands before she hit 30. 2 kids to each husband. Was a nightmare but from where I'm from this isn't entirely uncommon.
