Welp, the Vietnamese TL group is beyond double of the chapter count right now.

No one's going to like the way this goes - the douche is winning. He's already scored with the Nurse, and two of the upper class coeds. And one of those instances was in front of the MC - shamelessly. And they're off on an island vacation of sorts and the scene where they compare bodies - the douche easily overpowers the MC. It's clear this is going to be NTR, but the old fashioned way where the villain prevails. So far, the MC has been cockblocked at every turn, some of it is own doing. Sigh.
If what you're saying is true then I am definitely going to like the way this goes, I'm rooting for the douche (actual MC) and hope he gets all the girls 😈

I gotta admit I find it hard to believe there are even that many female readers of straight NTR at least, but as a straight woman who is not into this fetish, I'd guess a lot of readers are people like me who just like the psychological intensity and tragedy of the situation. Like I hate the romance genre, so NTR or yandere stories are pretty much the only way I actually find them enjoyable lol! It's like a refreshing twist for me.

Though tbh I would love it if the MC and the enemy dude cut to the chase and just admitted they want each other lol
That would be one hell of a twist.

For anyone curious about the direction, I've 'read' the raws up to ch 30, but as I understood what seems to be going on, I wouldn't be as pessimistic as some others.

First of all, who cares if Ryo fucks other girls. The MC is in love with the heroine and wants to keep her as his girlfriend. That's his priority and so far, that's still the case.

They're dating and were about to have sex. To prevent the bad end since she's a secret sub that wants to be roughed up and not some lovey dovey vanilla shit, he alterned between cute dates and turning her on but he literally felt sick basically acting like the jerk and couldn't do it (pussy, you're not evil for fulfilling your gf's need for rough sex! But ig he's just a virgin holding on to his idea of a 'pure' relationship and girlfriend)

But indeed, to also twart Ryo, he's trying to undermine his influence on the other girls so that he doesn't have a harem. The student council (?) was key to that, but even if he managed to get on it, Ryo fucked one girl that seemed reliable to stand up to him and the president is a former delinquent and Ryo's associate and fuck buddy already.

Other interesting point, but don't read it if you don't want new spoilers:

the brunette childhood friend does seem to be another love interest. But she seems intent to protect the FMC, suspicious of the MC, which leads him to confess what's happening, the whole isekai eroge she-bang. So she's his associate now and some other girls from the council. Including a martial artist with big tits that he smartly sent to protect his girlfriend (on top of training him?) when Ryo legit sent his thug buddies to rape her after she casually rejected his advances.

So, too early to tell and give up on this, but it is promising. I think that it's truly meant to be an original route in the eroge with the Isekaied MC giving his best shot and the antagonist rising up to the challenge instead of steamrolling his way into a harem. 👍

Okay, but there's still an important 30% who are women, which is still a significant number of the market share and shouldn't be underestimated. For example. Samsung makes up something like 30% of the GDP of Korea, which in turn makes them absolutely dominate the market and gives it incredible power.

Also the reason why NTR is popular needs to be broken down into multiple reasons and determine who likes it and for what reason. For example, I would imagine that there would be a very wide difference of people who watch NTR with the express desire of being the cuck vs the one who does the cucking, as well as the difference between those who watch it specifically for the story vs those who are just interested inn the pornographical content and are consuming NTR due to the quality of the visual work and not the narration itself, some of them I imagine begrudgingly.

This requires a lot more data and breaking down to truly understand it. Plus there's a lot of other kinks that get weaved into NTR, such as Ryona, which doesn't automatically mean that everyone who reads NTR are into Ryona.
My own theory is that the NTR fetish was born from the frustration of dealing with "good guys" in anime and manga. They are surrounded by hotties basically begging them to impregnate them, but they only care about training or whatever big dream, and never cross the line.
At a certain point after another of a long list of "waaah we can't do that... i'm too shy... that's too soon" the reader start to feel the physiological need to see an old fat man leading an entire team of tanned blonde thugs and a labrador barging inside the room, beat the crap out of the little bundle of twigs, tie him to a chair and show him how to turn a girl into a mindless cumslut.

Netorare as a word has existed long before modern times. (It has been in use since the 17th century, according to the Nihon Kokugo Daijiten.)

The spread of Netorare in anime / manga and the genre we recognize today as NTR began in the 90s, during the Galge and Moe era, coinciding with the explosion of popularity of titles like Evangelion, which, despite its theme, featured two very lovable female characters, Rei and Asuka, which made waves in the artistic industry. Initially, the genre was closely associated with rape, as in "seeing a loved one being raped," as the main concept. However, as the genre became more widespread, the proper term "NTR" (the acronym, not the word "Netorare") came to be on the now-defunct website Nebeya, a site dedicated to Netorare content, in 2001

From there, NTR evolved as the industry did, moving beyond just rape and gradually taking the form we know today, especially as people discovered how easy it was to mix with a plethora of other sub-genres.

This just reinforce my opinion...
Popular during moe, with that pathetic looser Shinji not doing anything with the pretty girls.

Kinda, at least related to Evangelion, but the main initial drive of the genre, especially with the explosion of galges and self-insert moe games, was simply the morbid curiosity of seeing a character you loved being raped. It was the pure effect of "The prettier something is, the more you want to see it corrupted," and the thrill that this effect brings.

It was closely related to the readers/viewers and their feelings toward the characters, but went beyond the simple concept of "I want to be cucked." It was more along the lines of "I want to see the characters I love being defiled," which is why rape was closely related to it initially.

Well, during the 90s and 2000s, the genre was very small, but as more artists began experimenting with it and mixing it with other tropes like the contrast between ugly x beauty (Ugly Bastard), along with the popularization of different character tropes in Japanese media in the 2010s, that’s what truly gave it the boost it now enjoys.

The newer tropes have also led their own subversions of the tropes themselves. Like when the ugly bastard and the beautiful girl are the actual heartwarming couple or a very rare one that I saw where a couple was attempting to NTR the main character, but when the girlfriend of the guy who was going to NTR the MC pulled down his pants to take his first time at the same time that his girlfriend was going to get hers taken, he ended up having a bigger package and ended up with both girls with the man trying to NTR him getting counter NTRd.

We're pretty much cycling across all the tropes and genres in circles. I could imagine we could argue that some old tales from medieval times of strong knights stealing away maidens from other castles could be some sort of ancient NTR style story from western history, so there's also universally shared concepts, just to further extend out how far back we've been seeing these fetishes come and go from within the general awareness of society, with the advent of our current communicatino technology and ease of access to specialty tools and training that we've accelerated these cycles.

What's the significance of the Labrador?

This is actually old data.... current one must be updated and probably the nubmers are even worse XD.... female audience always consumed more NTR for some reason....

Well, what a shame. The art is good, but if the story just goes on with the MC losing at every turn, I don't think I can enjoy this one.
He only cares if his heroine gets corrupt doesn't bother him if other girls included three other heroines fall. Is the type that to protect his prized waifu aims the scum at other girls or heroines

People who can't read shit sure love to talk about things that happened in their imagination right?

Sigh.

Ryo didn't advance much because MC was able to thwart his plans.

Sure, Ryo fucked the VP(who was a tomboy prince type but a Masochist too) making her quit the stuco in order to get to the Prez after taking over the position of VP to himself, but that's where he got stuck, the secretary and the treasurer from Stuco along with MC happened to be there when Ryo was dog fucking the VP.
Secretary (flat chest with glasses) had an admiration crush for VP so she left in tears and now hates Ryo deeply.
Treasurer (big tits drill hair) thought Ryo was a cute boy at first but now she got the ick from him and acts formally to him and sticks around secretary and MC in their free time.

Prez is pretty close to prevent Ryo from laying his hands on other girls and protag was able to make the rest of the stuco to be aware that Ryo was a scumbag. In the main timeline Prez became his sex pet because she got overwhelmed by Ryo and his thug friends, in this time she's on a deal with him to let other girls go though it's obvious he isn't so willing to do his part of the deal. She isn't to be trusted much for the time being IMO.

The nurse is a non character so who cares.

Sumire is the second main girl and MC has taught her to be aware of Ryo. She also became friends with him already, she in fact is MC's real beat friend.

The next arc was Hinata the karate girl, here MC bonded with her and learned some martial arts knowing Ryo would approach her MC taught her to be less on airhead also hags around with the MH to protect her.
Ryo got her in the original game because Hinata was too oblivious to things like sex and dating but was curious about it (she was a an egirl showing gravure on a anonymouse accoutn and got blackmailed by Ryo), MC taught her more self awareness and bonded as friends though just like Hinata she developed feels for MC.
Also in order to pass unnoticed MC has been crossdressing as a girl which Ryo immediately set his eyes on MC lmao.
Back to MC he is crossdressing because he wanted to approach the former VP who left because of Ryo, thus current character arc is because MC wants info about how Ryo was able to pass her barriers so easily.
