Can you point me to the chapter where Kyosuke associates him gaining weight with protecting himself from being assaulted by his sister? All y'all back in ch. 31 who were like "I don't get why the interactions between MC and his sister are so weird"?
Welp, there's your answer. Dude got assaulted, and got fat as literal physical armor to keep it from happening again.
A lot of you probably aren't looking for this level of real shit out of their ecchi mangoes, but this is what this manga has always been from the start. If you still didn't get that after the body dysmorphia thing, you really don't have any excuses now.
Achumuchi ain't here to pull any punches.
yeah, no real proof of that. Can you point me to the chapter where Kyosuke associates him gaining weight with protecting himself from being assaulted by his sister?
Achumuchi are amazing mangakas actualy, even their porn has incredible writting. "Woould you rsther have a proper perfect gf that only did missionary and never shaved, or have a gf like me that does whatever you like in bed and is always shaved down there"All y'all back in ch. 31 who were like "I don't get why the interactions between MC and his sister are so weird"?

if anything him remembering it and not falling into some trauma moment i feel somewhat hints that it didn't really effect him as much as one might think.
he seemed rather indifferent to the memory and if anything worried that if she remembered and how that would complicate things and maybe ruin the current lifestyle that he's rather enjoying.
Dude was molested by his sister as a child and mostly represses the events while continuing to live with her (it's possible the sister does too). Chick has severe body dysmorphia. Most of this manga is composed of two very traumatized human beings interacting and trying to glean meaning from their experiences. All of this is disguised with hentai body proportions and fat guy jokes because this would be a very hard fucking sell without the layer of levity the author tries to inject throughout the chapters.Ummh ok everything makes sense now (I have no idea what's happening)
Why is it always the hentai artists that always pull the deep meaningful shit out? U ever notice that? All y'all back in ch. 31 who were like "I don't get why the interactions between MC and his sister are so weird"?

I think the reader perspective issue is far simpler than that. For some people, this seemingly went from "slice-of-life" to "where is the author going with this". In isolation: a lot of those issues you talk about don't actually need explanations that tie into themselves or to relate to something else. Dropping a hobby isn't exactly atypical on its own, regardless of age; Ageki's obesity is just treated like comic relief in virtually all situations, we do it IRL anywho; that awkwardness with Ageki's mother is literally something anyone could also have for also any other reason, ask me how I know; the general disinterest in physical contact is so insanely common in the 21st century, etc etc. I downplay shit all the time and that's still without Ageki's particular trauma. I get the significance of reading between the lines but the reader simply isn't obligated to do that, and I don't think the author just looks at his work with that lens too. The mundane-ness of it all in a slice-of-life (ironic isn't it)... didn't really seem to jive in a cohesive manner, but it makes sense now. It makes a lot of sense now actually, but as someone who only posts once every now and then (and thinking back to last thread I looked at on this series, probably in volume three somewhere), the conclusion just seems convenient to say in hindsight. So when coming full circle, IMO, author's just really damn good at the storytelling to begin with. Just talking about it is proof enough.Put it this way, if getting assaulted really didn't affect him, then all these things are just a craaaazy coincidence:
- He loses interest in drawing for a few years after the assault. He's vague about how long it's been when he meets Mitsukara, but doujinshi-senpai's internal thoughts say it's longer than just the "recently" he told Mitsukara implied it was. It wasn't until the current school year began and he ended up in the same class as Mitsukawa that he started drawing regularly again.
- He gets fat in the years between then and now, but this is the real kicker: he's proactive about it. He went from not being fat at all to being a big guy becoming a core part of his identity. I'm not making a "there's something wrong with your head if you're ok with being fat" argument here, I'm pointing out that he gets something he wants out of it, and it's not just tasty food, it's physical stature. Big dudes are much harder to physically overpower.
- He's not a 2D > 3D guy inasmuch as he's just uninterested in physical contact with girls. Mitsukara offers a grope and he's just "I don't touch works of art." Hell, people used to complain in the comments about him never even thinking about copping a feel and being another sexless beta MC blah blah blah. He's not asexual, but the conditions where he's comfortable with his sexuality have basically had interpersonal contact completely tossed out of the equation.
- The look he gives the phone when he gets the text from his mom about the sister moving back home, and the weird/awkward/distanced interactions with her
- A whooooole lot of people deal with traumatic incidents by downplaying/burying/going into denial about what happened ("it wasn't a big deal", "we've all moved on", etc)
I mean, if you're not going to accept anything short of "author explicitly smacking me in the face with it" as sufficient proof, I don't think you're ever going to get that out of this particular manga.
Why is one of the option is game but no game, and the other is bacon but all baconAchumuchi are amazing mangakas actualy, even their porn has incredible writting. Such deep character writting
