This was one of the stupidest collection of ideas I've read this week and I'd been reading comments on political posts.

His 3 plans are...just the three things to fuckin do: do nothing or help either side. And how the fuck does eradicating an isolationist estate help y'all with your personal goal of getting strong enough to break the moon? They aren't the empire that has been hoarding the necessary techniques to get strong enough to attempt it while systematically murdering the elites who might've been able to achieve the task despite their shortcomings.

(Don't even let me get started on creating such a blood debt by murdering people who were planning on leaving anyway by ascending to another world.)

I tried reading the novel to see if there was a reason for this, but there's nothing explicit. Reading a bit between the lines, I think what he meant was that since the imperial army couldn't conquer them, they were a much bigger threat than the empire. I don't know yet what "breaking through the heavens" entails, but my guess is that they want to ascend to the higher world by force, and in doing so might destroy or damage the world they are in, so if the Mountain Manor were still around, they'd be able to stop them.

But didn't MC and his sect ascend to this world by breaking the moon? Did they destroy their previous world?

When MC spoke to the masked guard of the princess, the tone suggested he could have ascended from their own world even though he happened to not. If ascending damaged the world, I'd imagine moonbreakers would be more infamous. But this is all conjecture.

Given what the MC said in chapter 160 or so, I don't think cutting the moon and breaking through the sky/heavens is the same thing. To save you the trouble of having to look it up, he says that breaking through the sky is fantasy and that the only way to ascend to a higher-tier world is by cutting the moon.
