The potion is only known to restore memories right? No one ever claimed that it'll restore back the RIGHT memories, so she probably is remembering something wrong. Or hell, something might've changed at the last book of the series since she never finished the series. Also I don't know why she's so confused as to why the story isn't going like it's supposed to when she LITERALLY HAS ACKNOWLEDGED AND HAS SAID that she's changed the novel or will change the novel. So it makes sense that stuff isn't adding up.
