Honestly I wouldn't have accused the writing of being that much worse than normal, as these sorts of stories go. It's a bit sloppy and not terribly well-executed, but that's hardly remarkable?

But, frankly, it's full of awful and gross things happening, and so all the plot-holes and "but why?" moments rankle a lot more.

"Why am I reading this when it's neither good nor fun?"

I'm hoping things shape up a bit on the "fun" front when this bedamned story arc is over (and that the

constant threat of murder and rape from some rural lord

is just something this one temporary villain instead of how the whole story is going to be.) Though the outlook is getting bleaker as time goes on, I suppose.

20 chapters focusing on a gross story completely irrelevant to the main plot.... wouldn’t be as bad if they did anything with the main story. I kept skipping only realize it’s still the same damn side story. Felt more like torture porn than a story I’m so bummed.
Don’t read this if you are triggered by sexual violence it’s repulsive and the sole focus of the entire story so far.

Great plot, I mean its interesting I can tell all of is jist wants it to get on the main plot of revenge and kingdom issues

for future readers you can read like maybe the first 5-10 chapters? after that dont be afraid to skip chapters, you wont miss much and saves you from mental and emotional strain from this incredibly insensitive arc
