I mean the ex-wins aren't that much different from their pseudo-father the tree they themselves could barely be considered human, so I doubt they even see human as a viable option.

Also I don't think the author cares that much about romance I mean flash and Thorn were supposed to have something and they eventually and it even became a triangle when the praying mantis was introduced but there hasn't really been an update in roughly 200 chapters

You make some good points, I guess we'll never actually see any romance as a proper plot point, probably for the best really
