I wasn't expecting much from this series but it's actually quite good, for a power fantasy manhua it's surprisingly emotional and brutal. Biggest plus though is that the artist and editor aren't trying to make everything into waifu bait

Decided to check out the web novel and wow, this adaptation deviates a lot and often for the better

I usually don't like Isekai's with gimmicks where the mc reincarnates into a silly thing like a spider, slime, vending machine... But this is honestly really good.
And the art is phenomenal! Sometimes it's mediocre but damn, when it looks good it REALLY looks good

In the begining I disliked the MC and was bout to drop this gem of a work. It's a work that follows a non-human mc and honestly this shit slap, and it slaps you harder than that isekai truck.
8/10 no doubt bout it, the author and artist are good at capturing emotions in their work
If I was harsh or rating a novel I'd rate mid-high 7/10 but that's cause of how rushed and forced everything felt at certain points (especially the beginning). Still a good work that can be used to inspire others in alot of works outside of this "niche".

writing this after reading up to Ch.53, I not sure why this is recieving high praise. The art could use major improvements, it's painfully obvious when 3d models are used and like most cultivation manhuas the story gets carried by "one-type fits all" busty babes.

And speaking of story, there are many points that just don't make sense, like "ancient species" when all of this is supposed to be new to a modern world. Or humans having already developed spirit technology when it's barely been a year.

The characters also lack depth. The mc quickly devolves into a "humans are scary, we shouldn't fight them" type, while also doing nothing to placate either side. And the humans in turn are just the standard bastards you see in "cultivation vs beasts" world, always saying they need to kill everything before it can get strong enough to kill them. "The enemy is both weak and strong" fits them to a T.

If for no other reason, this series deserves a read for some of its unusual approaches to the 'reincarnator cultivators' genre. There are plenty of dumb moments, usually intentional for humor I guess. There are some logic failures. They do use plenty of annoying tropes here and there. And the whole time I've been looking forward to what comes next.

As fun as this is to read, I'm gonna bitch about this manga again. How does it make any sense for the humans to have rankings and classes for brand new monsters. Literally in chapter 135, the worlds first dragon appears and they're already able to say it isn't fully grown.

Stopped reading around 25 chaps. It was pretty interesting to read MC (the tree) being very cautious about humans while building his army on the low end. However, as of typing this post, there are 182 chapters available, and reading 25 chaps of it, I am overwhelmed with the amount of... stuff in the story. Story is your basic game setting where you level up yourself (and your army) with the experience you get by killing stuff. For me, it's just so boring to see a tree staying in one area all the time while his army does the work. I am just so tired of reading MC being in a scenario where they build a dungeon and level up to progress the story. Hell, I don't even know what the MC's end goal is; it seems like MC is just leveling up for the sake of leveling up.
