I can't recognize faces unless I've met the person at least 20 times or so, so that description is hardcore relatable. It sucks because people always assume you just don't care enough.

As someone that has mild prosopagnosia, I always see that these authors forget that there's more ways to recognize people than just their face. Voice and hair in particular stand out, sometimes even style of dress. Like, if you don't recognize people by face, your brain copes by recognizing in other ways, that's just how it works. The fact that the MC can't even recognize her dad's voice when she wakes up and freaks out...I know I'm supposed to suspend my disbelief in fiction, but this just isn't that accurate.

Having said that (I recognize people by the same traits), one could easily imagine someone who also has a terrible memory for voices, other things, etc, and does have some sort of hellish all-round difficulty recognizing people...

Though nonetheless, in this case it's just pure fantasy. Author would have been better off hand-waving as "magic" or a "curse," would be more believable XD
