I usually don't mind the storytelling in FT, but with this chapter I feel like this arc is going too fast. We could have had a 2-chapter "beatdown" phase where our heroes try to separate their possessed friends, but fail and end up injured. Then, as their enemy was about to white all of them out (including Gray, Wendy, Charle, and Juvia), Touka takes the upper hand on White Mage and manages to prevent the process before making both entities inside this body go unconscious, which forces the cult to scatter and leave their leader in Makarov's hands as the latter heads to the neck orb. Then, on Ch. 32, the "serious" fights could really have started.
Also, although I understand the whole "Juvia can't fight because her magic is still owned by the enemy" thing, that's still 5 against most likely 7 foes: the ones mentioned by Natsu, plus Makarov, the White Mage and a possessed Mokujin at the end; unless the old man doesn't fight or Natsu defeats two opponents before the final battle, she should have been the one to go against Gajeel.
What about Gray vs. the Thunder Gods, then? They are simply "defeated" in one chapter, then Laxus shows up and fights him.
Well, those are all my expectations for some of the upcoming chapters.
