An MC who wants to just do their job and spend life leisurely is thrust into a world where’s she’s forced to be a shonen protagonist.

The chimeras are cool and I’m excited to see future chimeras with hopefully unique designs (I love when fantasy worlds create unique animals that fit with the world.)

Yuri is fantastic, love the MC. She does what she needs to do and after she’s done she takes whatever breaks she needs. She just wants a simple life.

The concept itself is fine but Jesus are the other characters a little annoying. The antagonist in this series isn’t going to be the chimeras, it’s gonna be all the different characters that clash with what Yuri wants.

So far I’m dreading any future character that appears since so far we’ve checked off many cliche Shonen characters.

I’m hoping that Yuris personality doesn’t change too much in the future and she continues to be who she is and isn’t put into a sort of rough training arc where she all of a sudden turns into a hard worker who doesn’t take breaks.

Tbf in this world if you see someone use powers that are clearly that of the mutant monsters that ravage your species your reaction should be to assume she is an enemy. It makes sense that anyone who meets her will be wary of her or want to use her. Of course that doesn't exactly justify the kill first ask later attitude this guy has but the context of her abilities and his job make it clear that they would clash. Though I have a feeling this guy isn't actually trying to kill her so much as test her control.

I hope her motivations don't change, or if they do it's in a logical way, but I do hope her careless attitude gets addressed further. Her situation is not one to be lackadaisical in.

OK, first off, I enjoyed this chapter a lot and look forward to more of this.

But can we talk about her sideburns? It's like she grew out just the lowest hairs in her sideburns to a super long length, and it'sssss very unusual. I keep mistaking them for face scars at some angles cuz of how they're drawn, but also in my mind they just strike me as looking like a stretch of an attempt to make her appearance distinct and memorable. Maybe they have some other significance in the author's mind tho.

Me too! I like sword fights, but spears and polearms just looks cool to me
Seirei no Moribito (i think it was called) the main character Balsa yonsa is a badass and the anime has great spear fights! Worth checking out
