In the Iliad, Hector's fight with Achilles started off with him losing his nerve and being chased around Troy 3 times before mustering up his courage to face his enemy. It's even more impressive when Achilles was known for his fleet-footedness, and Hector can outrun HIM. That is probably why his speed here is noticeable in capturing Euryale.
