Honestly Darius almost figured it out. Eternal life through conceptual replacements is nearly perfect... If only it didn't mean the annihilation of the existing person.

@charasuu

Heart surgery iirc

Nevermind, I think he's just busy af or had to take breaks in between. Must have gotten the heart surgery part confused with someone else.

@NamelessSoldier It's pretty much the same with old Makiri: only a matter of time before his soul will rot. Unlike Makiri though he does not loose the sight of his goal wich makes him more successful.

@kwendy True. Makiri only became immortal and sought immortality because of the perversion of his original wish. Darius' wish is still a bit nebulous, but it seems to be related to saving the world, not necessarily immortality.

That is, for both of them, immortality was really a means to an end (even though it became twisted to become their final goal for one of them). I can't see Darius as the most successful though.

I think the closest to success was Roa. His original goal was eternal life and he found a way to do it. Roa's method is also not perfect, though, as he dilutes his own soul with that of the person who was his host, and over time, he probably lost sight of who he was while still maintaining that goal. His goal was also slightly corrupted in the beginning and changed his outlook, but he didn't change his ultimate goal.

Oh wow, this is still alive? I was so shocked to see an update that I made an account.

Given that Greek mythos is indeed the current Big Thing in the Lostbelts in Fate/Grand Order, I'm almost willing to believe that FGO spoilers are the reason that 3rei!! has stalled since Greek mythos is currently the focus here as well. Exactly what might be so spoiler-tastic in 3rei!! is something I can't fathom, but I like this answer a lot more than "apparently the author got lazy" - having time to do other things is part of why someone chooses to make a manga monthly.

I've seen some people buzzing that the author had surgery or something, but I found no real confirmation of that. It could be a lack of creative juices, but I have trouble believing that since this arc has clearly been planned out since mid-2wei! at the very least.
