I mean the father cares a lot clearly.However with the way he acts even with his reasons who wouldnt misunderstand that he hates them.Obviously she would have felt that he hated her.If only they talked it out and cleared the misunderstandings then she would realise at least he does care about her even if he doesnt show it well at all.He might have also acted nicer if he knew how she felt and her opinion on him.Ontop of that regardless of his reasons to not care for his daughter he could do the bare minimum and at least socialise occassionally with her or eat with her.
