I think its more of the backlash on the introvert male readers thinking they deserve a hot gf. Which is a shame when I think that art should be critical of any culture

funny \ sad enough, here in Brazil if you get a crime proof by sneakly record a confession, it's probably not count for being a illegally gotten proof, a lot of criminal$ got away with that argument :T

I kinda feel like Hiroto with issue to move foward, but seeing João getting support and mentoring to get his skill and work polished makes me think I really need a guidance like that to break free...? oh well

Thanks for the translation!!

40 pages in 3 months and you can live off it for a year. That's awesome.

And yea. That's what happens when you see someone happily drawing. You want to draw again.

There are also some extra details.

The joke from Mai-chan is a parallel to the police chief's comment about avocado salads. Also. Joao's mom is coughing. I hope it's not deadly like Covid.

Yeah, agreeing with editor. The joke falls flat and makes the story meaningless. If you understandably doesn't want to go for the "nerd gets hottie" trope, it needs to flow more naturally and still provides some kind of fulfilling conclusion. They become friends, rivals, perhaps the nerd finds his calling as a teacher, feels proud as a tutor or the delinquant starts tutoring other difficult kids as well. Any kind of pay off, really.

With that said, I wish the author showed us the end result. Guess himself couldn't envision a fulfilling conclusion when delinquant admits she bottled her dislike of him just for the sake of her grades.

I love how much growth these chapters are emphasizing, not just for Joao but Takei as well. He's not just being a mentor but learning from the prodigy in spite of the introspections.
